Now Cassie is working as the Weddings and Events Coordinator, a newly created position, where she continues to share her natural ease, excitement and is always there with a smile. With her attention, the Wedding Program at Carlsbad Inn has thrived and grown beyond expectations. She also continues to assist at the Front Desk and has proven to be irreplaceable with all the ‘hats’ she wears and her contagious smile.

“I have always wanted a job where the main duty was to be nice to people, and I have found it!” Cassie says and she knows as someone who is trying to help them find their dream venue, the most important thing you can do is listen. “The last thing you want to be is pushy. Their first impression is the most important. This is why I find it extremely important to respond to their emails and/or phone calls promptly. Making their day a dream come true really makes me happy, which is why I love my job.”

Not only do guests appreciate and notice her great work, other employees continually catch her going the extra mile for guests. She was named Employee of the Month twice the first year and a half she has worked at Carlsbad Inn and it was no surprise when she was named Employee of the Quarter. Cassie is a true asset for Carlsbad Inn and the Grand Pacific Resorts family with her great attitude of always putting our guests first.

So the scheduled changes to the resort’s common areas have moved up a few months and are in progress now. The Library and Sunset Room (formerly Terrace Room) are currently being updated with lightening of the dark word, carpet, paint and lighting. Off the Sunset Room, the veranda is getting glass enclosure; we want nothing to obstruct the gorgeous views of the ocean that our corporate meetings and wedding parties will experience.

If you have driven down Carlsbad Boulevard in the last few days, you may have noticed the color changes to the building that is home to The Daily News, Linda’s, Famulare Jewelers and California Wear. The light moss with white trim paint will also be used on the Hotel building in the next few weeks giving the property a fresh Cape Cod feel.

The Lobby, public restrooms and vending area will see their improvements in August. Many of the soothing colors used in the guest rooms will carry through the project tying in the sunset hues.

When you are visiting Carlsbad Inn during the renovation you may be re-routed as we make adjustments to accommodate the construction. We are taking every possible action to ease any inconvenience although some construction noise will be heard during normal business hours.
