Southern California’s favorite 5k returns on April 10, 2010.

The world’s fastest five kilometer road race,  the Carlsbad 5000 attracts a world-class field  of international athletes and Olympians to the Southern California beach resort  of Carlsbad, California. The Carlsbad 5000 features a fast and fun seaside course where 16  world records have been set. Whether you’re a serious speedster or rookie  runner, the Carlsbad  5000 is one of the most elite running events in the world.

At noon, elite athletes will race  through the charming coastal village   of Carlsbad for the  lucrative prize purse – over $67,600 – and a new world record.
